It's sunny in Sacramento

A bright light hangs over our little city today. Rejoicing hallelujah atop roofs and above trees, over parks and rivers and into our homes where we're taunted with a Ron Burgandy voice-over, "Come see how good I look". The sun looks good on you, Sacramento!

 We flee our homes, our offices, the four walled confines keeping this bright and free gift from our grasp. We walk the streets, basking in the rays during the breaks in trees. We observe and take note of new shapes in shadows where even the mightiest tree has failed beautifully in keeping this goodness out. 

We invite friends along to join, holding them tightly as we make our way around corners and across streets.

 We shop for dinner's next big hit and enjoy the fruits of the season.

FYI we bought apples, strawberries, fava beans and beets.

We've been rooting for you, Mother Nature, cheering you on through long months of abnormally cold weather, rain and snow, with hopes of blue skies, warmer waters, cool evening breezes. We're longing for the smell of sunscreen and perfectly pink skin. We've missed the little toes housed in jelly sandals, early morning sunrises, dew droplets falling from trees, melted popsicle stickiness and an excuse to have frozen yogurt a little more. With this change in weather comes a change in perspective. One charged with ambition, aspiration, confidence, desire, endurance, hope, optimism, promise, and reward.
